The easiest decision I’ve ever made.
That’s right! In case you didn’t catch this post on Instagram a couple weeks ago, Luke and I got engaged on October 18, 2020! I could not be more excited to be marrying my best friend!
The Proposal
To say I was caught off guard is an understatement. I was absolutely convinced Luke wouldn’t propose till his classes ended in November. That Sunday, I truly thought we were just going to do a cute little apple picking fall photoshoot with my sister, Melissa, and her husband, Randy (guys, take note, this is a GREAT way to make sure your girl has her hair and makeup done without raising suspicion!).
After some delicious apple donuts and cider from Snow-Line Orchard, we found a great spot to take the photos nearby. While Melissa and Randy went back to the car for the camera, Luke told me he had collected notes from various friends as an additional belated birthday gift. I teared up as he read all the sweet words and didn’t suspect anything…until I saw Melissa and Randy recording everything with their phones hidden in a tree.
I definitely thought that was strange but was still in some denial that this could be my proposal. However, once Luke pulled out his own note and flipped it over, I saw it end with a question mark and knew the question I’ve waited so long to hear was finally coming. So many emotions flooded my thoughts (and face lol) as he got down on one knee and made that the happiest moment of my life!
Of course I said yes!!
Afterwards, they fooled me again and surprised me with the most wonderful engagement party!! (I thought we were just stopping by at a friend’s house on the way back to say hi, I am too gullible XD)
We haven’t done a proper engagement shoot yet, but these are some of the beautiful photos Melissa (@melissarosson) shot during and after the proposal while Randy (@therandbow) recorded the whole thing! Luke (@lukejsalewski) did an incredible job editing the first two photos of this post!
A huge thank you to all our loved ones who have supported us and helped get us here. The journey has been one filled with so much growth, patience and trusting in the Lord – His timing is perfect, and I am so excited to see what He has in store for our future together!
