Affordable Christmas Holiday Home Decor
This will be my first year away from home for Christmas. My dad and sister will still be with me in LA but it still feels a bit strange knowing I won’t be in Florida. On the upside, this has made me really excited about decorating my place for the holidays. Since we always went home for about two weeks, my sister and I never really decorated our apartment all that much for Christmas. But also, back home, my dad never really decorated much either so here was my chance to do a little more for myself!
I’m definitely embracing the rustic aesthetic this year, although I do I feel torn. I LOVE the white-flocked look that seems so common with most bloggers these days, but I also think the more traditional non-flocked green looks beautiful and better with all the natural wood and cooler tones in my apartment. It’s a fine line I’m trying to toe by carefully mixing the two looks. I’m still waiting for a few pieces to come in to finish my decorating but so far, so good!
Of course, as much as I would like to full-on deck the halls of my apartment, there are plenty of other expenses around the holidays like gifts, travel, food, etc so budget-friendly decor is a must. My favorite places to shop for affordable Christmas decor are Target, TJ Maxx, Amazon, and Walmart where there are tons of finds for under $20! Not only can you find great deals at these places, most of them also offer FREE shipping!
Trees
My roommate bought the Christmas tree for our apartment and got this 6.5′ one. It is the perfect size for our place and you can’t beat the price! I bought some smaller trees to decorate various areas including this 30″ flocked tree for my bedroom and this adorable 18″ miniature tree for my desk at work.
