I recently tried out a new primer complimentary of Elizabeth Mott and thought today I’d do a quick review on it! Read on for my honest thoughts on the Thank Me Later Face Primer!
Thank Me Later Face Primer
Due to my long days and massive pores, face primer is an essential for my makeup routine! Since I haven’t found my Holy Grail face primer yet, I enjoy finding and testing out various brands. My latest find is Elizabeth Mott’s Thank Me Later Face Primer.
Packaging
Right away, I loved the packaging. While I do enjoy fun brightly colored packaging, my aesthetic is black and white minimalism so this seemed catered to me. This so perfectly fits in with the decor of my room, I am happily displaying it on top my dresser instead of with all my other face products in my makeup drawers.
Formula
It immediately checked off three things I look for in great primer formula: 1) lightweight feeling, 2) waterproof, and 3) applies smoothly. I’m already putting enough stuff on my face when I wear makeup, the last thing I want is for my primer to feel heavy. I also want it to withstand against tears, sweat, and rain – you never know what your day will bring! And with this being the first step of my makeup, I want an even base, and I don’t want to struggle while trying to achieve that.
On My Face
I found this face primer did a really great job locking in my makeup look all day. I was very impressed by how much blush was still remaining at the end of the day since it’s usually the first thing that fades as the day goes on. Another thing that really impressed me was how it seemed to “blur” out my pesky pores, minimizing their appearance and making them less noticeable. Seeing as how my pores are one of my biggest insecurities, I was very pleased about that. Finally, it did a nice job mattifying my face to prevent unwanted oily shine. While I love myself some highlighter, I like my shine glowy and intentional- not from an oily or greasy face!
Considering all these things, it’s no wonder, it’s been described as a selfie filter in a tube!
Also, all their products are cruelty-free!
