I’M BACKKKK!!! After nearly 2 relaxing weeks in Australia, I am back in the good ol’ US of A! I know this post is going up late in the month again, but I’ll balance it with just 4 short, hopefully somewhat easy March Goals. But first, let’s see how I did on my February Goals – keep on reading!
Eh, better late than never – right? Without going into too much detail, this past January was rough. That’s an understatement actually, but I’m going to spare you the details as to not depress you. I’m still learning how to deal with everything and not get too overwhelmed. The reason this post is so late is because I decided to take a little break from blogging/social media to take some time for myself so I don’t implode. This included a quick trip to Idaho to get away from the big city for a bit which was quite lovely.
Ooh I do have a bit of happy, positive news! I’M GOING TO AUSTRALIA IN MARCH!!! I’m so excited!! I’ve always wanted to go and now I get to stay with a good friend there and hopefully relax and have a grand time.
Despite a rocky January, I actually did pretty well with my goals! I actually accomplished all my blog goals (woot woot!) and almost all of my personal goals were partially done in some way! Seeing how I’m already half way into the month writing this post, I’m going to keep this month’s goals light. Read on to see what they are!
Having spent most of my life in Florida, I haven’t really experienced a “true” winter complete with snow, ice, cold, and SNOW (did I say that twice?). Still, I always looked forward to “chilly” nights and getting to see my own breath in the air. I loved turning on the heat in the house, bundling up in blankets, and drinking hot beverages. I now live in Los Angeles and while the winters here are not much cooler than Florida, they are at least a lot less humid. This winter, however, I’ve been pretty excited by the unprecedented amount of rain in LA and the drop in temperatures (I’m talking low 40s). There’s still no snow but it’s “cold” enough that it actually feels like winter – at least for LA.
Today, I’m sharing with you my Top 10 Winter Essentials! Whether you live somewhere with just “chilly” weather or you’re currently snowed in your house, these things should all make your winter a little cozier.
Happy New Year, everyone! Hope you all are enjoying 2017! I had a nice, relaxing time back home with my family in Florida for the holidays but now it’s time to jump right back into work!
If you’ve followed my blog for any period of time, you might know that I’ve been dealing with chronic health issues for most of last year. Well, right before I left for the holidays, my doctor gave me an antibiotic to treat a bacterial overgrowth in my intestinal tract and I have been feeling MUCH better! I still had a persistent cold pretty much the entire trip BUT my nausea, migraine, and pain symptoms were MUCH, much lighter and my sleeping habits are almost normal again.
This is all a huge blessing and answer to prayer and even though my health is still not 100%, it’s just so encouraging to finally have some kind of progress! I’m doing my follow-up with my doctor tomorrow and am hoping for more good news! ^^
Overall, 2016 ended pretty well even if I only reached 2 out of my 7 goals – that’s gotta be my worst month yet! >.< My blog was a bit neglected, unfortunately, during a time that is usually the busiest for bloggers as I instead focused on my health, spending time with my family, and thinking about some big possible changes in the new year (if my health recovery pans out). I’ll cover more of this stuff in my 2017 Resolutions post so let’s move on to the topic of this post – this month’s goals and last month’s recap!
I had so much doing the Merry Fictional Blog Challenge, I decided to do another geek centric tag – this time the Review of the Year Blog Tag by Dee from Princess Deia.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a fun little tag so when I saw this cute geek-themed Christmas blog challenge by Katy from Oh So Geeky, I couldn’t help myself. If you’d like to join in on the geeky fun, be sure to check out her original post with the questions then let me know so I can read your answers!
The last month of 2016 is here and how quickly it came! I honestly can’t believe it’s already December! It really hasn’t hit me yet how fast this year has blown by. Maybe it’s because I’ve been sick and stuck in bed so much that I’m in this little bubble/limbo where if it weren’t for Mystic Messenger (lol), I wouldn’t know sometimes when one day ends and another begins.
That’s a bit of a downer so let me bring it back up with some long-awaited good news regarding my health. On my last test, it looks like the doctors finally (after nearly 9 months) have a lead on a diagnosis and want to discuss treatment options on my next appointment. This has been a true answer to prayer. It’s been so difficult facing daily pain, nausea, and migraines without knowing why. And to finally have a “why” and to hear the word “treatment” is something I and loved ones have been hoping for all year. God is so good always!
I completed 4 out of last month’s 9 goals. Considering how difficult of a month it was and also how close I got to reaching some of them, I am not disappointed in the slightest. This month I’m giving myself 7 goals – keep reading to see what they are!
Yes, I’m doing a Fall Essentials post in November! Some of you might think I’m a bit late for a post like this…shouldn’t I have had it up in September or October the latest? Probably >.<
However, living in Los Angeles, it hasn’t felt anything like fall up until this month. I could’ve faked it earlier with a candle and something pumpkin, but I’ve been longing for that cooler weather that would finally allow me to break out the flannel and scarves! Well, now that that weather has come, I am living in a fall wonderland and I don’t want it to end (and knowing LA, most of our winter will probably feel like fall and I’m okay with that)!
So in the spirit of finally celebrating fall, I rounded up a list of my top 10 fall essentials. All these things either remind me of fall or make fall just that much better!
Can this year just chill out for a second? It’s going by wayyy too quickly!! How is it seriously November?? Anyone else sad that October is already over? It’s my favorite month so maybe I’m a bit biased.
November does have plenty of it’s own perks though and it does mean that Christmas is that much closer so I guess I can’t be too heart broken. A few things I’m looking forward to in November: my dad visiting, Doctor Strange, my boyfriend’s birthday, Cyber Monday deals (no Black Friday for me) and, of course, Thanksgiving (and Thanksgiving food!). Yep, it’s going to be a
good great month.
I’m not going to lie, September was a rough month. Fortunately, not due to health reasons. My health was actually doing quite well, strangely enough, despite all the emotional turmoil and distress I was under. Yes, once again, personal circumstances interfered with my blogging. I somehow did even worse this month in reaching my goals even though I cut them down from 10 to only 5 to help me focus. Yes, I’m disappointed, but I also know I did my best for what was going on in my life. As much as I love this blog, real life priorities come first. Luckily, things all worked out and I’m doing fine now.
Anyway…it’s October now and officially fall! My favorite month and favorite season – how can I not be excited!? I already had my birthday that happened on the 2nd which was AMAZING (post coming next week) and have already posted twice (this makes three times) within the first week so this month is off to a great start! I’m hoping the good times, (relatively) good health, and good blogging continues all season long!
I’m sticking with just 5 goals this month. We’ll see how I do and then maybe I’ll bring it back to 10 after that. I feel very optimistic that all these goals are attainable and hoping to see every one crossed off come the beginning of next month! Before I jump into these new goals, however, let’s go over September…it’s not going to be pretty.
I love trying out and testing new products for my blog. Today, I got to switch things up a little as my wonderful kitty, Xander, helped me review a new cat treat: SHEBA Meaty Tender Sticks. Read on to see Xander’s thoughts!
