Today I’m sharing with you what I wore for my birthday dinner earlier this month! Read on for more details!
Top: American Eagle | Shorts: Forever 21 | Bag: FashionIt | Necklace: Brandy Melville
Okay, I know it’s now fall, but when you live in Los Angeles with it’s year round warm/hot weather, it can still feel like summer until November and even then… Just this past weekend the highs were still in the 90s! Crazy, right? I mean, I grew up in Florida so maybe not that crazy to me but still! Give me that sweater weather already! Until then, read on to check out my last “summer” outfit of 2016.
I finally went to Umami Burger in LA! I’ve been to the one that recently opened in NYC, but this was my first one on the west coast. The truffle burger was just as delicious as I remembered it. I devoured it so quickly, if it weren’t $12 a burger, I would’ve ordered a second (and I NEVER do that with burgers). I also got their super yummy sweet potato fries and a Mexican Coke (LOVE!). The Umami was connected (I think) to a Fred Segal store so it was sort of a “mini” restaurant that wasn’t the biggest or most impressive – especially when compared to the NYC location which almost feels like a high-end lounge with its decor and full size bar – but it was a good experience nonetheless, and I can’t wait to go back!
After dinner, we walked over to the Pier where my sister got to ride her first ferris wheel! The view was incredible and it was really neat to see the city and beach all around us.
Have you ever been to Santa Monica?
For our last dinner together in Tallahassee, my friends Colby, Megan, and I decided to go to Harry’s Seafood – largely due to their “Fat Tuesdays” special where all drinks are half off xD Here are the outfits we wore…apparently I didn’t get the black and white stripes memo haha.
Hey guys, so I did a second Outfit of the Night video with my best friend, Colby. Sadly, this is our (for now) last video together since I moved to New York City, but I’m sure there will be more in future can’t-come-soon-enough reunions!
Colby wore a printed top from Kohl’s and blazer from Forever21. Her leggings were, to my surprise actually from Bed Bath & Beyond! I didn’t even know they sold clothing there! I guess these go under the “Beyond” category haha. Her boots were borrowed from a friend and she completed her look with her Wet Seal watch, Kohl’s necklace, and my Forever21 earrings.
I let my newly purchased BCBGMAXAZRIA leopard-print blazer (isn’t it amazingggg???) be the stand-out piece in my ensemble and paired it with a simple black Forever21 cami, black BGBGeneration denim jeans, and black Vince Camuto booties. Accessories were kept to a minimum with just a Forever21 necklace. Bold red lips added a nice pop of color against all the monochrome.
For our last night together, we decided to go to one of my favorite spots in Tallahassee, 101 Restaurant. I really love the atmosphere there, they have amazing happy hour drink specials, and since it’s open till 2am, it’s great for a late night bite (especially if you’re like me and can’t seem to eat dinner between 6-8 like most people). I got my one of my favorite dishes, the Buffalo Chicken Pizza, which (since I’m a sissy when it comes to hot and spicy foods) sets my mouth on fire but yet I still love it, nonetheless. I also got two half-priced drinks: my favorites, the Champagne-tini and Peach Bellini.
What are you guys doing tonight?
I wasn’t quite sure what my plans for the evening were so I wanted something simple but versatile that would work wherever the night took me. I kept it casual with my favorite pair of Topshop jeans, but dressed it up with a sequin tank from Express over a black bandeau. I accessorized with a mixture of gold and silver jewelry, my Candie’s wedges, and of course my oxblood Rebecca Minkoff bag. Finally, I loved how my bright blue nail polish popped against everything.
WHAT I’M WEARING
– Express top
– Charlotte Russe bandeau
– Topshop jeans
– Candie’s wedges
– Forever21 bracelet and earrings
– Henri Girl Boutique bracelet
– Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC bag
– butter LONDON “Blagger” nail polish
What did you guys wear this weekend?
I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Christmas!! Mine was filled with good food, great presents, and quality time with family. No special post today, just some random Christmas-related pictures. 🙂
Left: My sister and I after we just finished decorating the tree (the picture doesn’t do it justice).
Right: Another tradition: each family member has their own special ornament. Mine’s a cute, high-heeled shoe. Suits me perfectly.
Left: My cat, Xander, got to join in on the “open one gift from dad” Christmas Eve tradition. He got a 3-foot scratching post (and loves it).
Right: My Christmas outfit! Dress from Express (bought on Clearance for $24). Shoes were bought brand new at Goodwill (Target brand) for $4.
Next post: What I got for Christmas!! =)
