Ole Henriksen Vox Box Unboxing + Review

    Ole Henriksen VoxBox Review

Today I am sharing my long overdue unboxing and review of the Ole Henriksen Influenster VoxBox!

I was super excited when I was found out that I’d be receiving this box as I’ve had my eye on some Ole Henriksen products for a while but have hesitated to purchase any due to not knowing if the products would be worth their high price tag. In my VoxBox, I received three deluxe samples to try out: the Truth Serum Collagen Booster, Sheer Transformation, and Power Bright. Are they worth purchasing? Read on to find out!

    Influenster VS Sport VoxBox Review

If you are familiar with my blog, you will be familiar with Influenster and their awesome “VoxBoxes.” For those of you who are new, Influenster is this awesome site where you can complete surveys and tasks and submit your various social networks to determine how influential you are – the more influence you have, the more likely you’ll qualify to receive VoxBoxes which consist of free sample size or full sized products for you to test and review. I’ve received some AMAZING things from them so if you aren’t already, SIGN UP!

When I saw this box in front of my apartment door, I literally squealed. I was so shocked and happy. Shocked because I remember taking the survey for it and being told I didn’t qualify (?) which I was super bummed about. Lo, and behold there it was though!

The outer packaging wasn’t pink as you might guess but instead a nice sleek black and white. Inside, however, contained the signature pink striped box we are so used to seeing. Among the meticulously packaged tissue paper were a bunch of 25% off coupons for any one VS Sport item (I’ve already given some to friends) and a booklet showing their new line of sports bras. I’ve got to say, these sport bras look amazing. My former main sports bra is one I bought years ago, but it wasn’t anything special. It wasn’t the most comfortable bra, and it pretty much just “strapped em down” while not giving much support.

What I received in this box wasn’t just an awesome new sports bra, but they also included some workout pants for a complete outfit. I have been in dire need of new workout clothes since I’ve gained some weight over the last year so I couldn’t have been more thrilled.

I received the Incredible Victoria’s Secret Sport Bra and incredible it was! I’ve never really invested in a nice quality sports bra so this was definitely leaps and bounds better than any other sports bra I’ve ever owned or tried. Here are some of it’s features:

    Concealed wire for cushioned support
Padded straps and bonded, seamless technology that eliminates irritation
Super-soft elastic band for comfort and movement
    Cushioned, adjustable back closure

Oh, where do I start? There’s so much I loved about this bra.

Okay, first off, it’s SUPER comfortable! The material is very light and breathable, it almost feels like you’re wearing nothing! I would totally wear this to just lounge around my apartment. It also lets air in and helps decrease sweating and keep you dry with it’s wicking liner which is awesome during an intense workout.

Second, the support is fantastic! I didn’t feel like my chest was being strapped down at all! Instead, it just keeps everything in place while you exercise. I think this would be perfect for a high-intensity cardio workouts and things like running or boxing.

Third, the fit was amazing! I have a hard time finding bras that fit me perfectly but this seemed like it was custom made for me! I’ve also heard they’re great for both smaller and larger chested women as well!

That all being said, retailing at $54, this bra is an investment. Do I think it’s worth it? YES. The quality is incredible and it will definitely last you a long time. If you are someone who works out a lot or even just looking for a good, comfortable, supportive bra, I HIGHLY recommend it.

I also received the Knockout by Victoria’s Secret Sport Crop pants. They are a solid pair of workout pants that would be great for yoga or studio classes, but nothing too out of the ordinary. The description says it’s made of a “nylon performance fabric with four-way stretch that creates a second-skin fit.” The fit was good and I liked how the reinforced band sucked in my tummy making it look nice and flat haha. The day I took these photos was extremely hot outside (over 100 degrees) and the Body Wick fabric helped me stay cool and dry in the heat. This retails for $60 in stores.

Finally, here are some extra photos of me in these two pieces “in action” at the park. I wanted to make sure before I wrote this review that I got a good workout in them! I’ve been a bit out of the gym scene since I’ve moved to LA, but my awesome new workout gear definitely motivates me to exercise more!

Have you ever tried anything from VS Sport?

**This is a sponsored blog post. Influenster provided me with complimentary Victoria’s Secret products to test and review as part of a contest. Opinions are 100% honest and mine 🙂

    Influenster Surfs Up VoxBox Unboxing

Wow, I can’t believe I’ve already received another VoxBox from Influenster! It seems like just last month that I received my amazing Mary Kay box!

This box is titled the “Surfs Up” VoxBox so I would assume it’s filled with items perfect summer items for a day at the beach. The bright orange box is much smaller than my Mary Kay VoxBox, but it doesn’t make me any less excited to see what’s inside so let’s get to it!

    Inside My VoxBox

    Jamba Juice Smoothie Kits ($2.99-3.49)
Inside is a coupon for a FREE all natural smoothie kit which I think is pretty awesome. I love smoothies and I love making them with my Nutri-bullet. And what’s better on a hot summer day than a nice refreshing smoothie? All you have to do is add juice – super easy! And it’s loaded with fruits and yogurt, is fat-free, gluten-free and includes a healthy antioxidant boost, one full serving of fruit and 100% of your daily value of Vitamin C. Wow – healthy and yummy! Sign me up!

Hawaiian Topic Silk Hydration After Sun (2oz/$2.99, 8oz/$8.99)
This says it’s the first and only after sun product that “combines ribbons of gel and lotion to leave your skin feeling luxurious and refreshed.” It features 24 hours of moisturization, is lightweight feeling, smells like coconut papaya, and refreshes sun-tired skin with soothing aloe gel. Well, I cant vouch for the 24 hour thing yet, but it definitely smells great, is very lightweight feeling and moisturing. Also I love the bottle and it’s size – perfect for travel or throwing in your beach bag.

    First Aid Shot Therapy ($2.99)
Or “FAST” is an FDA compliant liquid pain relief shot that can be used for headaches/migraines, sore muscles, back pain, and hangovers. So it’s like those energy shot drinks, but for pain relief which I think is pretty nifty. I am constantly plagued with headaches and sore muscles and the occasional hangover so I really hope this works! It is also Berry flavored but I can’t imagine it is all that tasty. The packaging is cute.

    SinfulColors Professional Nail Polish ($1.99)
Ooh nail polish, always a win in my book. They say the formula is formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP free and is never animal tested. For being called “Sinful” Colors that is all very unsinful-like. Haha. I received the color “Song of Summer” which is a muted mint color which is right up my alley. Super affordable, dries quickly, and only took two coats. After a couple days, it’s only slightly chipped on one finger which is amazing considering my nails always chip!

COVERGIRL Bombshell Curvaceous by LashBlast Mascara ($9.49-11.99)
Finally, the product I was most excited about! This is dual-wand mascara that features the two formula “revolutionary Bombshell Boost System.” The Step One side is a curved brush that acts as a primer to thicken, volumize, and curls lashes. The Step Two side is a topcoat that “seals the look for bold, noticeable lashes.” To really get the desired bombshell effect you have to use the two wands together, Step One first then Step Two. It claims to act as a waterproof mascara with long lasting power. We shall see – can’t wait to try this out!

Thanks again to Influenster for providing me with all of these products to try and review!

    Mary Kay Influenster VoxBox Unboxing

I received yet another Influenster VoxBox and I couldn’t be happier! I think I’m more excited about receiving these in the mail than the actual beauty boxes I pay money to subscribe to!

If you don’t know what Influenster is, it’s a FREE program where once you sign up, you can take surveys and earn badges that can qualify you to receive various FREE VoxBoxes full of sample-sized, and very often full-sized products, to try and review.

This time the box is all about Mary Kay! Honestly, I do not own any Mary Kay products and I think the only person who I can remember – I think – was my grandmother. So when I think of Mary Kay, I think of it as makeup more for my mom or her mom – very mature. I don’t think of it as young, fresh, and trendy or very appealing to girls my age. I’m hoping this box can prove me wrong!

First off, this box is already the cutest box I’ve ever received from Influenster. I was excited about the Valentine’s Day J’adore VoxBox because it was pink – this one has an adorable design and roses all over it! I’m already won over. Once you open it open it, the pink and cutest continues as the box greets you with “hello, gorgeous! hola, bella!” I love it.

Within the pink tissue paper is a Mary Kay catalog and two cards. The introduction card outlines the products within the box and the other informs you about a survey you can take for a chance to win a $500 Visa Gift Card.

    Inside My VoxBox

Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara in I <3 Black ($15)
This mascara states that it “defines, defends and delivers four times the volume” – four times the volume compared to what? Seems like a random number to choose – also what is it defending my lashes from? The elements of nature? Sorry I have so many questions haha I really am excited to receive and try this – I love getting new mascaras, especially full sized ones! This mascara has a nice long skinny wand with short spiky bristles, and bonus no funky smell!

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Apricot Twist ($14)
This states that it’s a “soft, creamy, long-wearing formula.” Yes, it is very soft and very creamy. The long-wearing part is still to be determined as I have not tried it yet, but I do very much love this color. It’s a beautiful warm gold with a hint of shimmer. Lovely on all skin tones. Perfect for summer.

Mary Kay Mineral Cheek Color in Shy Blush ($12)
This blush states its “stay-true color defines cheekbones.” Gotta be careful with this packaging as the blush tries to fall right out! I really like this nice everyday pink color. There’s a bit of a gold sheen to it that I actually really like as it warms up the face a bit so I think it’s perfect for summer.

Mary Kay Translucent Loose Powder ($16)
I actually don’t own any translucent powder although I’d been meaning to so I am very excited to receive this! As the description says, I’m hoping it will control “unwanted shine all day” – so important on those hot LA days!

Mary Kay Gel Eyeliner with Expandable Brush Applicator in Jet Black ($18)
Love the little brush it comes with! I’m a big fan of gel eyeliner so very excited to see this especially in such a HUGE pot! This is bigger than anything I’ve ever paid for! I also love that they gave you a nice basic jet black color instead of some funky color. Here’s hoping that it is indeed a “versatile eyeliner with intense color payoff.”

Mary Kay Gel Bronzing Powder ($18)
Very pleasantly surprised with the size of this product – once again it’s huge! The color is very natural-looking, not orange-y at all and I can certainly see it giving you that “sun-kissed glow” it describes. The texture is also very nice and smooth.

Mary Kay NouriShine Plus Lip Gloss in Mango Tango ($14)
This little gloss comes in a bold fiery coral color perfect for summer. The card says it comes in “rich, intense, long-wearing shades.” There’s definitely some intense shimmer going on here.

Mary Kay Cream Eye Color/Concealer Brush ($10) + Powder Brush
Finally, there are two brushes included although only one is listed on the card. The concealer blush is nice and soft and I can definitely see myself using it for applying cream eye colors as well. The powder brush is a nice addition that I will use with the translucent powder although it’s not exactly the softest brush. The sleek design of the brushes are nice though with a nice matte handle.

    Influenster Violet VoxBox

Ahhh I finally received another Influenster Vox Box!!! I feel like it’s been forever since I qualified for one! The Violet Vox Box was “inspired by this season’s dark, moody florals” and sent to the “beauty queens of Influenster Nation.”

If you don’t know what Influenster is, it’s a FREE program where once you sign up, you can take surveys and earn badges that can qualify you to receive various FREE VoxBoxes full of sample-sized, and very often full-sized products, to try and review.

So far, I have done reviews for Rimmel’s Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara and the Beauty Blogger VoxBox through Influenster.

    Inside my VoxBox

Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Refreshing Dry Shampoo ($5.99)
My hair gets oily very easily so dry shampoo is pretty much an essential hair product for me. While this probably won’t replace Batiste as my go-to dry shampoo, I do really like it. It has a very nice fresh, clean scent. When you spray it on, it doesn’t leave white residue which I appreciate. I’m really happy to have a travel size dry shampoo that I can take back to LA with me.

    Soyjoy in Dark Chocolate Cherry($.99)
This is a healthy, all-natural gluten-free on-the-go snack bar with non-GMO soybeans and real fruit pieces. It has 130-140 calories that can be warmed up in the microwave for a “fresh baked” taste. My bar was dark chocolate cherry flavored – unfortunately, I don’t like dark chocolate or cherry flavor. It’s too dry for my taste – if I wasn’t so against wasting food, I probably wouldn’t have finished it.

Sally Hansen New Triple Shine in “Pixie Sticks” ($4.99)
Not a very holiday-like color – I was expecting a deep rich shade since this box was inspired by “dark, moody florals” or even a violet color because well, duh. When I first saw it, the bubblegum pink shade reminded me of Essie’s Boom Boom Room. I applied it without either a top or bottom coat and was very impressed with how shiny it was and how long it lasted without chipping. While I am a fan of Sally Hansen bottom and top coat polishes, I only own one SH nail polish color – after seeing how this performed, I will have to change that!

    Goody Athletique Headband ($6.00)
Really happy to get this little headband! Not only is it great for keeping your hair out of your face in exercise, but I also like to use it when washing my face and putting on my makeup. It’s made from moisture-wicking material to keep your forehead dry and cool. It is also adjustable to give you the perfect fit and to make sure it stays in place.

    Montagne Jeunesse Clay Spas ($2.49)
I’m really excited to try this clay-infused fabric masks made from natural bamboo. I always look forward to those days when you get to pamper yourself with a face mask but the application can get a bit messy – no longer a problem with these!

REVIEW: Rimmel’s Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara (Influenster)

I was lucky enough to score one of these new not-out-in-stores-yet Rimmel mascaras from Influenster to review! Here are my first impressions and mini review!
The Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara claims to “enhance your lashes beyond the limits for instantly longer and remarkably stronger lashes” and to “condition lashes for soft, lush beauty day after day.” Sound pretty good! It also says, “After 30 days, lashes appear longer, stronger, and more numerous. The lash-catching brush gives you perfect separation for a clump-free result and the microfiber formula allows lashes to stay flexible – never stiff or brittle.” Awesome!
Like most of Rimmel’s products, the packaging is very sleek, and I like the electric green color. The wand itself is very thin and flexible, but not so much like the Maybelline Mega Plush mascara. I like that this is a lengthening mascara and not volumizing because those always end up clumpy on my lashes. I did not experience any clumping at all with this mascara, just nice long, perfectly separated lashes. After 4.5 hours of wearing two coats, I did not see any smudging which isn’t too shabby.
I can’t say anything about it’s claim that lashes will appear “longer, stronger, and more numerous” after 30 days, but you can bet I’ll be wearing this mascara every day to find out!

    Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox 2012

Yay!! I was so, so excited when I received the email from Influenster informing me that I had qualified to receive a Beauty Blogger VoxBox. I’ve been signed up for Influenster for a couple months now and this is my very first box!

If you don’t know what Influenster is, it’s a FREE program where once you sign up, you can take surveys and earn badges that can qualify you to receive various FREE VoxBoxes full of sample-sized, and very often full-sized products, to try and review.

    • NYC IndividualEyes in Dark Shadows – I’m a sucker for smokey eye palettes, and I loved that not only did this come with four shadows but also a primer and illuminator. The primer definitely makes a difference when you put the shadows on. I’m a fan of the NYC brand (I LOVE their Sunny Bronzer), but I had yet to try their eyeshadow palettes so I was very excited to see this in my box. The back label also lifts up to give helpful instructions on where to apply the shadows.
    • Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit – Although I have received fake lashes in my MyGlam bag, I have yet to use them or any other fake lashes..ever. One thing I wish the MyGlam lashes had came with was lash glue so I was very happy to see that this kit came with glue and an applicator. I actually ended up using these last weekend and was happily surprised with how easy they were to use. I also liked that they are made of human hair and looked pretty natural. Even though it was for Halloween, I didn’t want it to look super obvious that I was wearing falsies.
    • Bath & Body Works Mini Candle in Pumpkin Cupcake – I recognized the scent immediately when I opened my box and couldn’t be happier. I already own the full-size candle and I LOVE it! Pumpkin and Cupcake? What a perfect combination. This mini candle is so cute and is perfect for small spaces or for people who have trouble burning through the full-size candles (don’t be fooled by it’s size, the scent can definitely fill a room). Plus it came with a bonus coupon!
    • EBOOST Daily Health Booster in Orange – This immunity supplement will be perfect for the winter especially because I have the weakest immune system! Whenever I feel a cold coming up, I break out the Emergen-C, Airborne, and Naked Juices. I’ll be sure to give this a try at the first sign of a sore throat or other cold symptom. I wish I got another flavor besides Orange though…
    • Goodie Simple Style Spin Pin – Just used this for the first time today, and I must say it is amazing!! I am horrible at making buns but with these little helix-shaped pins, I am a bun-making pro. I couldn’t believe how simple and easy to use they were! And it really does hold your hair in place nice and secure! Seriously, if this works for me, anyone can do it.
    • Not Your Mother’s Kinky Moves Curl Defining Hair Cream – I have naturally wavy hair although I often straighten it. I’ve heard good things about this brand, and I can’t wait to see how this defines my waves. It’s infused with natural grape seed and jasmine and smells amazing.
    • BONUS: Boots No. 7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion and Night Cream – I’m familiar with the Boots brand but haven’t used their skincare items yet. I have Combination skin not Normal/Dry but I’m still interested in seeing what this does for my skin.

Are any of you guys on Influenster? Have you tried any of these products? What do you think? Comment and let me know! (:
