September Goals + August Recap

September Monthly Goals
Last month certainly had its ups and downs. but I am super excited for September! Why? Because fall, of course! Fall is my favorite season AND it means my birthday is right around the corner! ^^
Before I recap how I did with my August goals, here’s a quick life update… Sorry it might be a bit of a downer, but I’ll keep it brief.
Despite my best efforts, I’ve gotten quite behind on my blogging. If you keep up with my posts you probably already know, but I’ve been having health issues for the last several months. I had been getting better, but this last month, it took a step backwards and my struggle with chronic pain, nausea, and depression has been getting the better of me.
I’m currently home in Florida with my family for a few days. I’ve, luckily, been feeling a bit better since I’ve been here and even managed to make it out to the Universal theme parks and go flying with my dad! Today, I’m seeing a neurologist and hoping to hear something good.
As you might’ve guessed, I didn’t too hot on my August goals. It is, by far, been my worst month in terms of goals accomplished.
This month, I only gave myself 5 total September goals because I really want to focus on these 5 things. I really hope all of them will be completed in the next monthly recap. We shall see! But first, let’s see how just how bad August was…

August Goals Recap

Personal Goals

1. Sell more – My sister and I sold some Comic Con stuff, but not much clothing, unfortunately. I didn’t get around to listing as much as I would’ve liked too or I probably could’ve sold more. Oh well.
2. Get my car to the auto shop – Fail. I’m starting to think I should just trade it in and get another used car. I’m pretty sure my repairs are now costing me more than the actual worth of the car.
3. Eat more veggies – I think I did okay with this, but I know I can do better so I’m not marking it as completed.

Blog Goals

1. Reach 500 likes on Facebook or Pinterest – YAY!!! I’m so happy I met both these goals last month!! Facebook is at 520 and Pinterest 514 – I’m a little shocked I reached my goal despite not posting or promoting very much. Sincere gratitude to all who read my silly little blog and follow me on any of my social media <3
2. Re-organize my Pinterest boards – Didn’t do this at all. In fact, I barely touched Pinterest at all last month. I knew it would be a big project so I kept putting it off for when I could set aside a good chunk of time – well, that time never came, unfortunately -__-
3. Join a Pinterest group board – I technically did join some group boards, but like I said in my previous goal, I barely touched Pinterest so I almost feel guilty striking this off as I didn’t really post anything to the boards I joined. 🙁
4. Complete my Comic Con recap posts – My last post, my Sunday recap, was scheduled to post on the last day of August, but then I got super behind…on everything. At this point, what I did almost two months ago at Comic Con is not very relevant, but I’m still going to put up a Sunday post…eventually.
5. Create a media kit – That’s three times I failed to do this. At least I found a template to use…baby steps.

September Goals

Personal Goals

1. Start working on my business – Now that I’m done with paralegal school, I really want to make this a priority. I’ve done some research and written down some ideas here and there, but I really want to make a solid business plan and put it to action.
2. Read a book – I started Congo by Michael Crichton at the recommendation of my boyfriend. It certainly has an intriguing start, and I’m looking forward to reading more. I also would like to finish Walking With God by John Eldredge that my community group finished reading, but, of course, I am very behind on.
3. Exercise – On my last doctor appointment, I weighed in heavier than I’ve ever been which was very difficult to hear although not surprising. I’m eating okay, but my chronic pain has made it so difficult to do most physical activities. Even if it hurts, I think I need to keep pushing myself to continue walking as much as I can and exercising whenever I do get a pain-free moment. Goodness, I can’t wait until this is all over with (because I’m going to stay optimistic and have faith I won’t have to live like this forever), and I can join a gym and get a personal trainer to kick my butt back into shape.

Blog Goals

1. Catch up on my blogging – Perhaps this is just wishful thinking, but I’m going to do my best.
2. Create a media kit – This is going to happen, people.

What are your September Goals?

  • Jolina

Ok phew. Good to know I’m not the only one amiss with my goals! Life gets in the way I guess. I seriously need to exercise (I’ve been saying this the whole summer, girl!). And how about we do the media kit this month?? Pinky swear??

  • This is such a great post! Last month had a lot of downs for me so I know this month will be the opposite. I already feel it.

  • kandja sylla

I can’t say you had a bad August since you were able to reach some goals especially in blogging. It’s nice that you take time to do a recap and set another goals for the next month. This will definitely help inspire you for the next month. Can’t wait to see your media kit! xx

  • Stephanie Parrell

Great job with the goals. It is always nice to have something to strive for. Good luck in September!

  • i definitely need to do this too . anyway , good luck dear !

  • As someone who has been dealing with chronic pain for almost six years (yay autoimmune diseases), my biggest piece of advice is be gentle with yourself! I’m so sorry you’re feeling crappy but it sounds like you’re making an effort to practice self-care which is essential! Hang in there. 🙂

  • Ashley Stephenson

Good job on all your goals last month! I need to work on increasing my followers, before summer hit I was doing pretty well promoting my social media and posting a I hardly post. Gotta work on it!

  • Amber

Love all your goal! And good job reaching your goals from last month!! I really need to get on Pinterest and start working it!! Keep killing it!

  • Shearly Reyes

Love all of your goals! And don’t worry, I put off some of these (like creating a media kit) for almost 6 months before I did!

  • Girl, I hear you. Chronic pain makes is so hard to exercise! I deal with a ton of chronic joint pain from some medical things I had happen to me a few years ago and it’s made it really hard for me to be active. I’m trying to figure out what I can do, and I have found that swimming is really easy on my joints, but still is a good work out! Good luck this month! I hope you get some answers!

  • Samantha

I totally understand about the weight. A few months ago I was at my heaviest ever, and I’ve been slowly chipping away at it. Good luck to you, and I hope you’re feeling better this month!

  • Kirsty McManus

This is such a good idea to have such clear goals – I may try this for the next few months, see how I get on! I’m also still putting off creating my media kit, for something so simple to do, it’s such an effort to tick it off the list…

  • Great goals! It sounds like you made some good progress on your blog stats! Go girl!

  • Great goals! Also need to be exercising and reading more 🙂

  • Jessica Bradshaw

Way to go on the goals you crushed last month! I know you will do the same again. 🙂

  • I need to start working on some blog goals so I can work to cross things off my list every month!

  • Love when other bloggers share their goals! My Pinterest is in dire need of some attention this month too!

  • Girl. I have fibromyalgia and I’m at the heaviest I’ve ever been (and never wanted to be). I completely understand your struggle of not being able to work out because of the pain. It’s such a shitty cycle. I’m with you, though! 🙂

  • We’re only two weeks in to September, and I feel like I’m already failing at achieving my goals for the month. Good luck with your September goals – you can do it! My Pinterest is in need of some updating, too, and I need to get back in to my exercise routine after slacking for a few weeks. Let’s do this together. 😛

  • Rachel Golden

Some months are just so difficult to get things under control. I know all while I was in school, no matter how hard I tried I just couldn’t blog at the rate I wanted too. People fall behind sometimes, but I’m sure you’ll get back on the horse and complete some more goals this month 🙂 Positive thinking!

  • Getting on the scale at the doctor is the worst! I need to get back on track with exercising too!

  • rowena diciembre

first..just wanna say..”great job” for such a great post!!! when i read your personal goal.. i just realized we had the same.. but definitely.. each month.. i fail to do anyone of it.. 🙁 specially exercise 😛

  • I hope the neurologist will be able to help you out. Happy that you’re with your parents because there’s nothing better than having mom and dad take care of you when you’re down. 🙂 Good luck meeting your September goals! Blogging is hard work, but it sounds like you have a good positive attitude…which helps a LOT. Big hugs!! 🙂

  • Hey hey hey. Shoutout to you for being transparent. Things happen but you brush it off and keep it moving. My monthly goal for September is 500 Facebook likes but I think I might hit it by the end of the week! I made a post about my goals on the blog as well but cheers to our success and looking forward to your September recap.

I’m proud of you Mandy! Even when you don’t meet all your goals, you still maintain being an incredible person, which is far more important. Let me know if I can help you in anyway with your media kit or anything
