I didn’t see as many movies as usual this year. My trip to Europe during the summer and my busy spring and fall semesters didn’t help. However, when I did get the chance to head out to the theater, I was usually pleasantly surprised by what I saw. There were quite a films that proved you can be loved by both audiences and critics. Now without further adieu, here are my top 10 favorite movies that were released this year.

Note: I’m pretty sure Thor would have been on this list but somehow I still haven’t seen it =( Some movies that may have been contenders on the list, but I couldn’t find a theater playing them were The Artist, A Dangerous Method, and Melancholia.
